First Nexus 4 Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM already up

Nexus 4 owners were probably disappointed to find that your smartphone is Android 6.0 updates losing Marshmallow Google this week. However, the custom ROM community has intensified once again and already has a working version of Mako marshmallow with more options in the way too.

Marshmallow in MakoDmitry Grinberg appears to be the first with a AOSP ROM I work uploaded into place, with instructions on how to assemble a build it yourself, if you wish. There are also some installation instructions for the files below in the comments section of the page, which are definitely worth reading if you're new to this kind of thing.

Google Plus user Aldrin Holmes also seems to have its own marshmallow ROM for the Nexus 4 almost ready for launch. At last check in ROM is about 80 percent done with a zip file on the way shortly. Although no confirmed ETA.

Of course, you have to find your own copy of Gapps if you want the full Android experience, including the essential services such as Google Play Store. After a bit of searching around, the first testers do not seem to have consistent success with several floating around online right now files, so it might be worth waiting for a solution confirmed to appear before diving into the marshmallow the Nexus 4.
